55 + Magazine is a premiere bi-lingual quarterly publication that is geared to the 55+ population in South Florida. Our 55+ Magazine is a year old and we need Account Representatives that will take us to the next level of advertising sales.
This position represents our magazine in the South Florida Community on all levels including
•professional groups,
•community organization and groups,
• healthcare providers, including physicians, assisted living facilities and nursing and rehabilitation centers
•senior citizen housing and community organizations
•retail stores
A person in this capacity must use considerable discretion in planning and performing a public relations program which may include writing, media relations, periodical and publications production, photography and other communications techniques to achieve specific public relations goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Executes and maintains social media program
Plans and executes specific public relations activities.
Directs special events, including trade shows
Conducts studies and writes and publishes pertinent reports.
Attends professional monthly meetings
May coordinate press conferences or other media programs; prepares promotional materials related to publications.
Works with media buying departments in advertising agencies
Assists in selling advertising for the magazine
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related discipline and two years directly related experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of public relations practices and procedures;
A minimum of 2 years of healthcare related experience
Bi-lingual abilities preferred
Knowledge of media production;
Ability to write and edit materials for publication;
Ability to interact effectively with the public and media representatives;
Ability to supervise the work of subordinates engaged in public relations duties;
Skill in the coordination of special events.
